Tech Recruiter

Job description

Hi there!
I am Tom. Currently the only (full time) recruiter at Fourthline. I love to have impact in our company culture and growth. And I feel at home here because I can help in our company mission - fight financial crime - by bringing in great recruits that add value in many ways. More than ever I would like to present these opportunities to the world. And with the current company growth we realized this no longer is a one man job. So, what are your ambitions?

Do you share mine? You probably read a bunch of vacancies already. Either today or in the last few days and weeks. And you are wondering where you want to go now, and what the coolest place to work and grow is for you? Am I close to the truth? By no means am I saying that we are, but if you are reading this and already have a little smile on your face, you might want to continue reading. Could just be that you found your place to shine!

By the way

(I have to be honest and say that this picture is taken 5 years ago, but I still look a bit like this young god.. ;D)

My mission could be our mission…

With the pressure on I am doing recruitment the same way as many others in the field. I write a vacancy, do some sourcing, handle applicants, and make my hiring managers happy with talented and nice colleagues. We are successful with an awesome FinTech product, an appealing mission and I can count on my colleagues to help with recruitment a lot. But we can showcase all of this so much better and that is why we are looking for people that can bring change and innovation!

However, change takes time and energy and for that I need help. Your help. I want to create fun, engaging and cool recruitment campaigns that are different and appealing, but that also fit our company culture and our company mission: Fighting financial crime. I want to showcase more of who we are, what we are doing, how we are doing this and what people can expect when they apply here! Because what we do is awesome, people can take up responsibility and grow fast...

And now I hear you think… “How can I help you, Tom?”

If you really want to help me I would like to find synergy! Finding additional skills in you - that I don't possess - and connect on the things we both like to do. Creating new angles in our recruitment and be creative about things. There are things that I love to do and which makes me happiest and there are things that you love to do... Combine that and we get a killer team! Synergy.

What I believe will make us successful is to combine best practices and innovative ideas. Don’t fix what is not broken but improve what can be better. And for that I think we should always

  • Focus on quality and innovation: If we do it, we do it well, but we also test and improve!
  • High standards: We are the gatekeepers to the success of Fourthline. Act like it!
  • Ownership & responsibility: If we say we do something, we will make it happen!
  • Honesty, trust and reliability: Core values that I hold in high regard and use in my recruitment
  • Humor: Nothing kills the buzz more than a negative atmosphere. I love to bring humor to the table
  • Creativity: we do not have the biggest budgets and we want to accomplish a lot
  • Communication is key: internal, external, always. The better we communicate, the better our results get.

Your role

I can tell you a lot more later, but I need you to own:

  • Full cycle recruitment of Tech (& non-tech) profiles
  • Talent mapping, sourcing and hacking!
  • Innovation in the way we do recruitment because you constantly want to try new things and experiment
  • Making our hiring managers happy, but also challenge them if needed
  • Help with building the brand of Fourthline. I know we are alive and kicking, but more people should be aware of this!

Job requirements

What you bring, next to synergy in the team is

  • At least 2-4 years of Tech recruitment experience of which some in-house at a startup or scaleup
  • At least a bachelor’s degree – or a good reason why you do not have one
  • A drive to be successful. You know things are not perfect, but let us make it perfect
  • An innovative mindset. Let me be the recruiter, so you can be the hacker ;)

Why Fourthline?

Fourthline is a scale-up where things move fast (sometimes chaotic) and where we combine a senior leadership team (McKinsey, ABN, Accenture, Stripe) with fresh startup minded people in middle management and throughout the company. We learn from each other every day and together form the basis of the Fourthline success!

We have grown 1000% in the last three years (from 20 to 200) and will grow at least with 30-40 new colleagues in the coming 6 months (ready to go?). We are well funded (+14 million) and our commercial numbers are growing every day (even despite corona). And with offices in Barcelona and Amsterdam that combine around 45 nationalities from all over the world we think and act international. The product is future proof and ready for the world to use and we already work with clients like, N26, ING and DeGiro.

At Fourthline, we care about attracting and retaining the best people and that is why we offer

  • Great compensation package, certainly compared to other scaleups/startups
  • An opportunity to work for a multinational FinTech scale-up that is growing rapidly (1,000% growth over 3 years)
  • 25 days of vacation to recharge your batteries
  • A workplace in our fun office right next to the beautiful Vondelpark in Amsterdam
  • Daily catered, fresh and tasty lunch with your colleagues (when allowed again)
  • After-work drinks in our very own bar on Fridays (when allowed again)
  • High degree of collaboration and autonomy
  • Crucial role in a highly motivated, talented team that will grow a lot
  • Flat structures and open communication
  • Ping pong/darts/table football, because it is fun (when allowed again)
  • Four office dogs (current count).

NOTE: For this role we can only consider people that are Amsterdam/Randstad area based (We will not relocate from outside Europe - due to Corona).

If you got this far there is one question remaining...
