Mobile QA Engineer

Job description

Our mobile team is growing and with this expansion we need a dedicated QA engineer in our Mobile team that we consider to be our Power Rangers! You are our first QA engineer and will focus on both our Android as well as our iOS native apps (SDK’s). We expect you to create a testing strategy and bring our mobile testing strategy and quality to the next levels and beyond. That means the setup of frameworks that make things smoother and you enable our developers to focus on their core activities. We would really love it if you bring automation skills in your test work (huge plus).

What does it mean to be the first?

Freedom. Responsibility. Growth. Appreciation. Impact. Change.

Since you are our first Mobile QA tester, we realize that the first month is dedicated to show you around our current code base, testing strategy and things that we know off, that can be improved already. Together with our team lead (Eduardo) you will create a testing roadmap and you have a huge say in the possibilities here (automation is awesome!). After that you will execute on our SDK testing strategy. We foresee a future where we start work on another product as well, so get ready to rock!

We know the following tasks will be part of your role, and we also know you will work on a lot more things than these:

  • Create and evaluate test cases in order to validate functional requirements of the product in an Agile working environment;
  • Work together with our developers to enhance and improve the product;
  • Analyze and document test cases and their results;
  • Create and work on manual test cases and start automation on these;
  • Automate test cases in order to improve the quality and performance of the development process for both our Android as well as our iOS app (huge plus!!);
  • Implement testing strategy based in high-level requirements.

  • Located in the Netherlands (preferably in Amsterdam or around) and valid work visa;
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or a related field;
  • At least 3 years of (automated!) Mobile testing experience in iOS and Android;
  • Working knowledge of QA methodologies and how to apply them in Agile team;
  • Experience with testing tools for mobile;
  • Testing Framework knowledge (f.e. XCTest Framework (iOS) and JUnit and Mockito (Android))
  • Full understanding on development processes and release process;
  • Troubleshooting skills using Xcode and Android Studio;
  • Experience with automating tests for mobile apps (huge plus);
  • Kotlin and Swift programming skills (would be a plus);
  • Some important personality traits: great social skills / highly organized / detail oriented / analytical.
