Fourthline is a rapidly growing fintech scale-up in Amsterdam and Barcelona. Our purpose is to eliminate online financial crime by helping banks and leading fintech companies with their KYC (short for Know Your Customer and is nerdy jargon for "onboarding"). Your mission as Enterprise Account Executive

Responsibilities we like to give you

You are responsible for building specific verticals and/or geographic EU markets (DACH, SoEU, NoEU, CenEU). A big part of the growth of Fourthline is dependent on you. On the one hand, this means investing in prospects, market mapping, going out there and acquiring clients across Europe first and the world next. On the other hand, it means building Fourthline itself: developing the sales strategy and execution plan by translating learnings from the field into the go-to-market approach, setting up sales tools, and building knowledge on large banks’ complexities in sales cycles, layers of decision makers and risk appetite.


Overall, the Enterprise Account Executive balances a deep understanding of the product and KYC field with the social antenna needed to acquire clients. The stakeholders you will deal with are high level counterparts at classic banks, neo-banks and fintechs. Think of the CXO and highly placed Compliance, Tech, Product, Finance and Risk people. B2B prospects tend to spend significant time inquiring on details, for example as to why Fourthline AI works better, how the integration works, or what the outlook on the compliance landscape in a country is. You have the analytical skills and the drive to learn a lot.  

The role brings about a high level of freedom, so a strong sense of ownership and drive is expected. Everyone in Fourthline relies on their expertise and truly enjoys learning from each other and building the business.


The role has three key elements: strategy, client acquisition and freedom. This is a unique opportunity for a self-driven, smart professional with strong interpersonal skills and an interest in the compliance field to take a highly-successful, well-funded scale-up to European and then global leadership in its field.


What we are looking for in you

The ‘smarts’

  • Very well developed analytical skills
  • Overall intelligence and focus on knowledge (sharing and gathering)
  • Interest in compliance and legal (our field of business has lots of that!)
  • Reading up to gain new knowledge is something you like to do

Commercial business sense - but not over the top

  • Consultative selling experience in C-level suite 
  • SaaS and deeper product experience into IT will help you to quickly gain trust with our clients
  • Startup experience would be a nice to have that brings a competitive edge (mostly internal)
  • Extensive sales experience in Enterprise organisations 

A person “we want to drink a beer with” (0% or 6%, all good!)

  • Fun personality that brings energy to the team
  • Did they call it the X-factor earlier in your career? I guess so...
  • Clients need to trust and like you because of the lengthy sales cycles.

Job requirements

  • 8 to 12 years of working experience in sales / business development, preferably with some degree of selling into financial institutions, financial verticals or compliance/regulated markets 
  • A Bachelor’s or university degree 
  • Almost native proficiency in English (German, Italian or Spanish is a huge bonus)
  • In depth knowledge of SaaS products, their life cycles and the complexity of software integration
  • A go-getter attitude that drives you but is tempered by the will to do the right thing: Consultative selling, and lots of it.

NOTE: For this role we can only consider people that are EU based + EU citizen and/or already have a working permit in place to work in the Netherlands. We have some limited support options on relocation for this position available.
