Fourthline is a leading Fintech scale-up that has been growing massively in the Identity & verification (ID&V) space for the past 3+ years. We have been focusing our energy and growth on our product and our clients and the rewards on this have been tremendous. And because we are growing a lot in a short period of time all departments – including finance – need help!
For our finance team the volume of work is increasing significantly and with the onboarding of clients plus the pace in which we develop new products we expect more and more financial support is needed! Ant that is why we are looking for an Assistant Controller in our Amsterdam team!

Your mission

In our small team it is your mission to speed up our monthly financial reporting, establishing and maintaining financial control for a soon to be launched product (how cool is that?) and you will help our finance team with (ad-hoc) tasks and projects. Depending on your skills and expertise we can broaden your mission to saver of the Fourthline universe. For now, this should suffice :-)

Your role

We hope (or better put: expect) that you will be involved in a broad range of finance activities. From reporting to management to budgeting and from forecasting to taxation and annual audits. From regulatory reporting to the overall increase of automation in the finance team (tech savviness). This is a great opportunity for a professional that is – or wants to become – an all-round financial professional! And when we think of some other responsibilities in more concrete terms, we see you work on

• The issuing of sales invoices to clients
• Recording purchase invoices
• Preparing month end journal entries
• Producing cost centre reports for budget holders and assisting with financial reporting to management
• Financial control and daily administration of new payment top up product to be launched.

Next to the hard skills and experience we look for those who like a flexible environment where priorities can change and where changes happen overnight. That means a flexible attitude, an open mind and curiosity about how things work and enjoyment in learning new things.

The hard skills/requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a finance role like GL Accountant, Assistant controller or similar
• An (applied) University degree in a financial direction
• Fluent control over the English and Dutch language
• Good Excel skills.
• Willingness to cover both transactional and technical finance tasks.
• Eagerness to learn and develop on a continuous basis
• Background and experience in regulated financial institutions is a nice to have
